In this issue, we bring together insights and best practices from Flanders and Europe and show how other member states and regions are coming to terms with what we in Flanders have christened 'the spatial shift'.
This calling card for ECTP members and European partners in spatial planning gives an overview of the policy to safeguard public spaces in Flanders and the objectives of the spatial shift.
Besides several domestic cases, it also presents foreign examples of methods and instruments to regulate the occupation of open spaces.
